Gunning for the Hills…or should I say RUNNING…

There are many benefits of losing weight…being healthier, being more energetic, better self-esteem, reducing medications and the list goes on. For me, these have all become a part of my life for the past two years. But one side effect that is not so pleasant is having an internal thermostat that doesn’t work properly.  Having lost much of my ‘insulation’ I now suffer from the inability to keep warm. This has been a particularly rough winter for me. I avoid going out because I am cold all the time. I avoid the snow and the rain and the wind. Even when it is warm in a room, I still feel a chill inside. I tend to make a lot of excuses and this has spilled over in to my outside training for the Blue Nose Marathon. For a variety of reason (excuses) I have not attended hill night. I can’t drive after dark but that’s no longer an excuse. I was legitimately ill for two weeks as well. So tonight is the night I can’t avoid any longer. It’s hill night and I am actually working at turning that negative energy (anxiety) into positive energy and am feeling some enthusiasm.  #TeanMyles2014 and the @BNMarathon have been a very positive influence for me and I am very appreciative of all the benefits I have enjoyed so far and look forward to the big weekend coming up in less than 6 weeks.
